We are looking to appoint a talented and experienced Senior Vice President of Development/Construction to partner with senior leadership and lead our Development and Construction team with an annual construction spend in excess of $150M.  Join a stable and growing company whose focus is to maintain all of our locations, new and existing, to help us achieve our goal; to be the Best Healthcare Company in the Midwest!


    The Senior Vice President of Development/Construction will be responsible for the on-going management of our senior housing projects through the pre-development, development and construction process with an emphasis on the development of the project program, design documents, procurement, estimating and cost management. The right candidate will thrive in an independent environment where he/she has the opportunity to directly shape and manage complex new builds and major refurbishments of existing properties. The position will report to the CEO. 

    This is a senior level position and the ideal candidate will have 15+ years of supervisory construction and/or development experience. The person should be a team player and be committed to travel to the various projects throughout our four states (KY, IN, OH, MI) and is based at our headquarters in Louisville, KY. 


    Specifically, the key responsibilities for the SVP of Development/Construction include the following:

    • Oversees all company construction projects with responsibilities for the efficient execution of the projects, including safety, schedules, profitability and quality. Significant renovation of existing properties is included, and accounts for approximately 35% of current workload. 
    • Responsible for management of financial resources, including accounting and cash flow for projects and ensures stewardship through expert documentation, minimization of delays, changed conditions and contract changes
    • Routinely inspect and review projects to monitor progress, spot deficiencies and uncover potential issues/risk and act to mitigate the potential impact
    • Work with in-house counsel to prepare contracts and negotiate revisions, changes and additions to contractual agreements with architects, consultants, suppliers, etc.
    • Create and maintain key account relationships

    • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, development management, architecture, engineering or a related discipline is required; a Master’s degree is preferred.
    • Strong technical understanding of construction, architectural design, and engineering.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an executive role
    • Applicant must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with good attention to detail.
    • A driven, self-motivated individual with an ability to quickly adapt to change of direction.
    • Possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Multi-family, hotel and/or senior living construction experience strongly preferred
    • Exemplary computer skills that include knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of products
